Julia Mary Grey is an artist and author based in Cape Town , South Africa. She has a first-class degree in fine art from UCT and is the creator of The Art of Moonlight Making, a course she began in 2007 based on the concept of creativity as a means to free personal expression and make visual the things we would like to see manifest in our lives.

Her book Cape Town, an illustrated poem was published by Struik Publishing in 2005 when she was 24. It is a full colour art journal: part travelogue part personal manifesto involving collage, illustrations and poetry. Her writing is an unfolding of self-discovery: the impressions, visuals, questions and growing pains of a young person coming of age during the South African transition documenting her personal story parallel to the political. Julia Mary Grey is currently focused on music making and is in preproduction on her first album.
